How to use a clubs, hobbies and activities grant

When you are awarded a clubs, hobbies and activities grant, you will receive an email asking you to submit your bank details, with information on how to do this. 

You’ll need to send us your bank details within three months after receiving your award letter or email. If we do not receive these within three months, your grant will expire and you won’t be able to use it anymore.

Please keep all your receipts for 12 months from the date you used your grant. We may need to write and ask you for these in future.

Frequently asked questions

You must use your grant within 12 months from the date on your award letter. 

You can use your grant for anything related to your child’s clubs, hobbies or activities. This includes craft materials, gym membership, swimming lessons or the purchase of a musical instrument.

You can use your clubs, hobbies and activities grant to buy materials for your child in any shop of your choosing. You can also use it to pay directly for the club or activity you have identified as suitable for your child.

Our grants cannot be used to after-school clubs or school holiday clubs. They can’t be used for therapy-related activities either. But we can consider recreational summer clubs like sports clubs, performing arts clubs, swimming courses or board games clubs.
