Coding Superstars: Intro to Micro:Bit

In this video, we'll use the Micro:Bit website to learn how to use block coding to write your own programs, what each of the blocks of code means, and how to transfer your code to the Micro:bit emulator, or your own physical Micro:Bit if you have one.

What you’ll need

To create your own code with Micro:Bit, you will need to access the FREE to use website Micro:bit – an online coding tool which is available to use on any phone, tablet or computer.

Note: You don’t need to have an actual Micro:Bit device – the Micro:bit website has a built-in emulator on screen!

Show us your work

Once you have created your own Micro:Bit code, you can send it to the Family Fund team using an app called Showbie. Showbie is a tool that allows you to join a virtual classroom and show off your amazing creations.

Ask a grown up to help you set up a Showbie account and join our virtual class using code: EEZYC4.

Additional challenge

Now that you have an understanding of how to code using Micro:Bit, show us your best efforts and create some new characters and animations!
