The Discover Digital team at Family Fund have been awarded a grant to help young people, aged 18-24, learn practical and recognised skills that may help them with moving into employment.
What is the programme?
The Discover Digital Inclusion – Your Opportunity scheme is a short programme that will teach young people with additional needs, aged between 18 and 24, new skills that they may not have had the chance to learn before.
The programme will use specialist trainers to help young people achieve recognised certificates across 4 technical areas:
- Coding
- Design
- Video
- Music
Each of these 4 learning areas will have 3 separate certified courses. They will start with a basic, entry level certificate and move on to more practical and creative courses.
Each course will lead to the creation of a practical piece of work which will be added into each learners own personal digital portfolio.
A learner can complete one, two or three units of each learning type, and will receive a certificate for each completed unit.
The programme is designed to be fun whilst also educational.
Registration will open week commencing 12 Jan 2026 with the workshops set to run from the end of January to the beginning of March.
