Securing your device for online safety

Being online can bring new challenges for families, especially those raising a child with additional needs. In this friendly and practical workshop, we’ll show you how to make the most of the safety features already built into the devices, apps and games your child uses every day.

We’ll explore parental controls, screen time tools, content restrictions and privacy settings on Apple and Android devices, along with popular apps and games.

By the end of the session, you’ll feel more confident supporting your child to enjoy technology safely, helping them stay connected, learn independently and develop positive digital habits.

This will take place on Thursday 22 October from 10:30am to 11:30am :

We’re holding this workshop online via Zoom. An experienced trainer and a member of staff from the Family Fund team will be there to support.

Please note:

• This is a friendly, informal workshop for parents and carers of disabled or seriously ill children and young people.
• To keep your device free to use during the workshop, you will need to join the Zoom call on another device, such as a smartphone or laptop.
