How long before I receive my grant?
We work hard to process applications as quickly as possible. Most families receive a grant decision within 30 working days of applying (provided all the relevant info has been provided with the application form). However some applications will be much quicker, and some will take longer.
The length of time it takes for us to award a grant depends on a number of things:
The number of applications we are dealing with. At certain times we receive very high volumes of applications, so it can take longer for us to work through them to make a grant decision.
Whether you have applied to us before. If you have never applied to Family Fund before (or haven’t applied for a long time) it can take us longer to process your grant because we have to consider your eligibility in more detail.
What you have requested. We have suppliers in place for a wide range of items, but if you are asking for something unusual, it can take us a bit longer to look at your request.
Use our online application tracker
The online application tracker allows you to see how your application is progressing. You can use the tracker to see:
That your application has been received (we will also send you an email)
Whether we are waiting on some information from you before we can work on your application
That your application is in progress and we are considering it
The grant decision once we have made it
Some stages of the application take longer than others. For example, an application can spend a number of weeks “in progress” if we have a high volume of applications to deal with.
If you find the status of your application has not moved since you last checked, that doesn’t mean that something is wrong. Please hold off from contacting us as we will be in touch as soon as a decision has been made.
To use the application tracker you will need to enter your Family Fund number and your postcode.
