What if you could control a video game just by tilting your phone or tablet like a steering wheel? Get ready to move, tilt and code your way into a brand new style of gaming!
In this playful, hands-on workshop, you’ll use OctoStudio, a free coding app created by the Lifelong Kindergarten team at MIT, to build a fast-paced falling catch game. You’ll transform your device’s built-in tilt sensor into a real-life game controller! Use photos, drawings and custom artwork to design your falling treats and your catching character. Make your device buzz, play custom sound effects and burst with visual effects every time you make a successful catch!
Important: You will need a tablet or phone for this coding session, with the free OctoStudio app downloaded – it is available on Apple and Android devices.
Join our workshop on Saturday 3 October at 10.30am.
