One Good Day can change everything
This winter, you can help families raising disabled or seriously ill children enjoy One Good Day, a chance for joy, rest, and togetherness.
“One Good Day can change every other day.”
On the hardest days, joy can feel far away. In this short film, Esther shares how One Good Day together helped her family feel hopeful again.
“One Good Day can change the way you feel about every other day.”
Daniel’s mum, Esther
This winter your gift could make One Good Day a reality for a child like Daniel.
No child should have to wonder what a good day feels like.
But this winter, thousands of families raising a disabled or seriously ill child are struggling to afford even the basics many of us don’t think twice about.
Every child deserves the chance to have One Good Day – to experience joy and laughter, and to just be a child. With your help, that One Good Day is possible.
Help make a good day possible – donate nowWhat One Good Day meant for Daniel’s family
Caring for Daniel is full-time and unpredictable, especially in winter when heating, hot water and laundry costs rise.
With your help, we gave Daniel, his mum Esther, dad Charles, and his brother David a family day trip to Edinburgh Zoo, and a chance to forget about financial strain, juggling hospital appointments, or facing constant challenges, so they can experience laughter and make lasting memories together.

What One Good Day means
One Good Day looks different for every family. Your donation helps make it happen – bringing comfort, connection and moments of joy to families raising disabled or seriously ill children.
-
Sensory comfort
A sensory toy or device that helps a child feel calm, connected and full of joy – like Mikey, who loves exploring new worlds through his VR headset. “He looks forward every day to logging on with his friends. It’s kept him connected and happy.” – Mikey’s mum, Chevonne.
-
Warmth and rest
Soft bedding, a sensory light or a supportive mattress that helps a child like Jessica settle and sleep soundly through the night. “She slept till 7am – I was so happy. It was the best sleep she’d had in ages.” – Jessica’s mum, Norah.
-
Calm and independence
Listening to his Toniebox stories helps a child like Finn unwind, feel calm and gain confidence doing something for himself. “Now he asks for his Toniebox and takes himself upstairs. He soothes himself to sleep. It’s massive for us.” – Finn’s mum, Danielle.
-
Time together
A family day out, short break or special trip that gives families like Daniel’s time to reconnect, make memories and recharge. “The trip gave us a chance to be a family together. We’ll cherish it forever.” – Daniel’s mum, Esther.
