The British Gas Energy Trust (BGET), which incorporates the Scottish Gas Energy Trust, is an independent Charitable Trust established in 2004 and remains funded solely by British Gas. Their mission is to alleviate the detrimental impact of poverty, with a focus on fuel poverty.
Since launch, The British Gas Energy Trust has provided consistent, financial help for vulnerable households and remains one of the largest, grant giving energy Trusts in the UK – since 2004 over £175.8* has been invested to help over 700,000 people manage their household budgets and energy costs.
How can British Gas Energy Trust help?
Debt relief grants are available to both British Gas customers and customers of other energy suppliers. If you are struggling with domestic gas and electricity debts owed to British Gas or other suppliers, you can apply for a grant to clear that debt.
The Trust funds advice-giving organisations across the UK which help people avoid the burden of energy debt, make informed choices and improve their money management skills.â¯Find a money and energy advice centre local to you.
