Founded and run by women who have experienced birth trauma, Birth Trauma Association are the only charity in the UK solely dedicated to supporting women and families who have experienced traumatic birth.
Part mental health charity, and part campaigning charity, they work to support parents and families, and improve parents’ experience of birth, engaging and educating health professionals, and taking part in research to identify failings in maternal care.
How can Birth Trauma Association help?
Birth Trauma Association have a team of peer supporters who offer support over email and phone. All our peer supporters have experienced birth trauma, and they can share what helped them recover. The peer support team holds a fortnightly Zoom drop-in on a Thursday evening.
