Local law firm Wilkin Chapman Rollits has helped power the Family Fund running team to success in this year’s Run For All York 10K and York Mini and Junior races. Our runners managed to raise more than £4,000 to support families raising disabled and seriously ill children.
Wilkin Chapman Rollits generously covered entry costs to the race. This meant that every penny of sponsorship raised by the Family Fund runners went directly to supporting our vital work.
The team of runners took to the streets of York in early August, cheered on by supporters along the course. The group’s combined fundraising total will help us provide essential grants, equipment, and services for families caring for a disabled or seriously ill child.
A massive thank you
John Lane, partner and head of Wilkin Chapman Rollits York office, said:
“We’re delighted to have been a sponsor of the Family Fund team for York 10K & Mini race this year. We’re proud knowing that our sponsorship helped raise more money and deliver vital support for those families raising disabled or seriously ill children in York and surrounding areas.”
Gill Bell, our Community and Events Fundraiser said:
“All of the runners have done an incredible job, and we’re so grateful to Wilkin Chapman Rollits for their generous support.
“As a charity, we know that raising a disabled child puts a lot of strain on a family’s budget. We come across many heart-breaking cases of parents missing meals so that their child can eat or struggling to cover the cost of bedding, clothing or toys. But we also know that even quite a small amount of help at the right time can make a huge difference.
“We’d like to say a massive thank you to Wilkin, Chapman Rollits, and all our runners, for helping to fund more grants and services for disabled children and their families.”
