Who is HMRC?
HMRC stands for His Majesty’s Revenue and Customs and they are responsible for collecting taxes, managing customs, issuing National Insurance numbers, and distributing benefits such as Child Benefit.

You can contact HMRC in a number of ways, not just by telephone, including Relay UK Text Service (Relay UK), webchat, BSL SignVideo service, home visits and face to face appointments.
You can download the HMRC app from the App Store or Google Play. The app offers a quick and easy way to get information about your tax, National Insurance and benefits.
If you need information in different formats, HMRC can provide: braille, large print, audio cd and coloured paper. You can use a friend or family member as an interpreter when you phone HMRC or HMRC can arrange for an interpreter.
