Happy Random Acts of Kindness Day
If you weren’t yet convinced that 2026 was going to be a special year, then we have the concrete proof. Random Acts of Kindness Day falls on the same day as pancake day! Now we know for sure that a year that celebrates food and kindness on the same day is going to be one for the books. Want to make someone happy while making your way through a syrupy stack? We’ve got you covered.
What is Random Acts of Kindness Day?
Set up in 1995 by the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation, the day is designed to encourage us all to celebrate the little things that make a big difference. Kindness is a superpower, even in small amounts it can create huge change.
While we encourage everyone to practice random acts of kindness on any day, it is great to have a day to remind us of all the little kindnesses we can afford each other. From tiny acorns, mighty oaks grow!
How can I get involved in Random Acts of Kindness Day?
Participation is simple, do something kind for someone else. This can be a small investment like complimenting a stranger’s outfit, taking out your neighbours’ bins or posting a heart warming story or social post.
If you want to make some more significant change, you don’t have to stop at one small random act! There are myriad ways to spread kindness and, fortunately, at Family Fund we’re something of an expert on it.
What can I do for Family Fund this Random Acts of Kindness Day?
If you want to use your random kind energy to support Family Fund, then we have all kinds of ways that you can help. Whether you want to donate time, money or fundraise; we will welcome you with open arms. Here are some ideas on ways to spread the joy:
Donate
If you want your act of kindness to help those that are most in need, a donation to Family Fund is the easiest way to make impact with your pounds.
Even a donation of £1 can go a long way in Family Fund. Your money could go towards helping a family get a new cooker, washing machine or bed; a short break or holiday; sensory toys, technology, and so much more.
Feeling lucky? You could play our lottery for a chance to win 25k! All the proceeds go to helping disabled and seriously ill children, so everyone is a winner.
The great part about Random Acts of Kindness Day is that everyone can get involved. It may not seem much, but when we come together to all do a little, we can achieve a lot.
Community
Speaking of coming together, building community is a great way to enact a little kindness. At Family Fund, our community is everything and we are always trying to expand it further.
It doesn’t take much to help us build our impact, even sharing our social posts can help put us in reach to those that need us and those that want to help us.
Do something you do every day with kindness, by liking, sharing and following our social channels.
Volunteer
We love to welcome people from all over to come and donate some of their time to our cause. We post a range of volunteer opportunities throughout the year, so it isn’t limited to one day of kindness. If you have some time to give and want to get involved, then browse our opportunities.

Fundraise
If you want to do a big act of kindness, why not give fundraising a go?
Is there something on your list that you’ve always wanted to do? A marathon or fun run? Sign up to one today and support Family Fund as you reach your goal. You’ll get all the feel-good from achieving your goals, while also helping disabled children!
Fundraising doesn’t need to come with physical exertion, why not turn something you do every day into a fundraiser? We love seeing the dynamic ways that people turn their hobbies into cash for charity.
If you’re a gamer, you could do a charity stream or host a funded tournament. If baking is more your thing, why not do a bake sale? Or, if you’re gearing up for a Spring clear out, sell some of your old stuff online and donate a percentage of the sale!
There are so many ways to fundraise for us and we welcome every one. Let us know if you’ve got something planned or take a look at more ways to get involved.
