Festive cheer that gives back: Meet the young artists behind our Christmas e-cards

This Christmas, Family Fund is offering a meaningful way to spread joy while supporting families raising disabled or seriously ill children.

Even more special, our Christmas e-cards feature designs created by children supported through Family Fund grants. Each one is bursting with creativity and heart and this blog highlights some of the incredible stories behind the artwork.

Faith, aged 11 – A love of design 

Faith loves to draw, design and make costumes. Her snowy church scene captures the peaceful magic of Christmas and reflects her love of creativity and imagination. 

“She loves to draw and design and make costumes and lives in Worcestershire.” 

Hope, aged 13 – Finding expression through art 

When Hope received a Family Fund grant for an iPad, it opened up a new way to express herself through digital art. 

“I started using Procreate and doing digital art, after getting a Family Fund grant for an iPad. I use art to express myself, and work through feelings and things that are happening in the world and my life.” 

Her tree design combines “imperfectness and attention to detail” — a beautiful reflection of both creativity and life itself. 

Hope’s mum, Emma, told us how much the iPad has supported her daughter’s confidence and communication: 

“So much has happened for her since first getting the iPad from Family Fund. It’s filled with art, photos, music and writing, and it’s such an important communication tool for her.” 

Grayson, aged 9 – Every reindeer counts 

Grayson and his dad, who both have autism, created their festive design together using Procreate. Their picture of Santa’s sleigh is full of heart and meaning – from Santa’s hearing aid and sunflower lanyard to reindeers with visible disabilities. 

“We believe no matter your disability you can achieve anything you put your mind to.” 

Their message is one of inclusion, hope and Christmas magic. 

Leo, aged 12 – A Christmas bunny full of calm 

Leo painted his Christmas bunny at school last year – and it’s now one of his family’s favourite festive designs. 

“The design brought a tear to my eye because it’s the first time Leo’s ever painted something like this. It relaxed him so much – he really found something that made him feel calm.” 

After starting a specialist school and receiving a Family Fund grant for a computer, Leo’s confidence has grown enormously – and he now uses his digital skills every day.
