Family Fund has withdrawn from X

Today, Family Fund has closed its account on X (formerly Twitter), and we wanted to explain why. 

Social media is a massive part of modern communication, and it helps us to communicate with families and other stakeholders.  Social media channels change over time, so we regularly review which channels we use and how we use them.   

Recently, there have been reports of a growth in hate speech on X.  Now, Ofcom (the UK online safety watchdog) is carrying out a formal investigation into X.  This is in response to reports that the platform’s Grok AI chatbot has allowed users to create fake intimate images of people without their consent. 

We feel it would not be right for us to continue to use a platform which does not align with our values on inclusion and safeguarding, so we have decided to stop posting and engaging on X.
