Types of evidence we can accept

When submitting your grant application to Family Fund, certain documents will help us when being able to assess your eligibility.

If dated within the last 12 months, we can accept the following documents:

  • A full copy of a report detailing the education support provided to help with your child’s special educational needs, such as a Statement of Special Educational Needs or an Individual Education Plan (IEP)
  • A supporting letter from a Teacher, SEN staff member, Key worker or Portage team
  • A therapeutical assessment report from a SALT, Neurologist, Audiologist, Clinical Psychologist or Paediatrician
  • A supporting letter from a Doctor, Health Care worker or Therapist

Documents that cannot be accepted include;

  • Award notice of Disability Living Allowance (DLA) , Child Disabled Payment (CDP) , Personal Independence Payment (PIP) Adult Disability Payment (ADP)
  • Appointment letters
  • Reports /educational plans older than 12 months
  • Prescriptions /screenshots of medications

Are we eligible?

Grants are available for families raising a child or young person with a long-term disability, disabling condition or life-limiting illness, and living on a low income. If your child needs a high level of support with things like personal care, education, communication, medical treatment, physical adaptations, you may be eligible to apply to us.
