Our highlights 2025-26

Together, these developments show an organisation responding not only with scale, but with breadth, flexibility and purpose. We were also pleased to share our Theory of Change, to help explain who we are, what we do and how we measure the impact of our work.

Deliver essential help to families, to make day-to-day life easier

With more than 300,000 moments of support delivered, this year Family Fund delivered a broader range of grants and services than ever before.

We provided 114,000 grants totalling £38.8m to families, and our Information and Support service was accessed 193,000 times throughout the year. We expanded our offer by introducing 10 new programmes and activities. One of these was our Family Support Search where families could book an appointment with one of the Family Fund team to explore the different types of support available.   

We built and developed skills

Skills development has been high on our agenda, focusing on building practical skills and confidence. This included the launch of Discover Digital Inclusion:  Your Opportunity – our first services programme for disabled people aged 16-24.  

More than 150 young people took part in this accredited course, delivered through the new Family Fund Academy. It was aimed at building digital and creative skills linked to employment and independence, with 73% reporting a rise in confidence afterwards.

And our Scottish Digital Income Boosters programme for family members offered the chance togain new skills to help manage pressure on household finances.

Partner with families and others to create positive change

Our highly valued partnerships helped us make key achievements in a wide range of ways.

For example, our new Together Fund, with Variety, the Children’s Charity, provided 500 children with sensory toys and items to help communication and learning. A further programme with the National Deaf Children’s Society supported over 700 children and families with technology and assistive technology solutions, including 159 requests to learn British Sign Language (BSL).

Not all partners are charities and organisations – one donor enabled us to support the carers of adults with complex disabilities or serious illness (our first adult-centred programme).

We also partnered with the awarding body AQA to offer accredited learning through the new Family Fund Academy. It means parent/carers, young people and children completing our skills workshops and courses receive a certificate recognising their achievements.

Our social enterprise supported our charitable aims

We worked with clients and partners to further grow Family Fund Business Services (FFBS), our trading subsidiary, which gifts all of its profit to fund crucial Family Fund activity.

We increased our number of clients by 18%, demonstrating that they clearly understand the tangible benefits of partnering with us. We supported clients across the housing, public and charitable sectors, helping them get more 600,000 essential items such as beds, food vouchers, and appliances to their customers.

Grow our income to do more, for more families

We’ve taken a number of significant steps to grow our fundraising activities and our income, so we can provide more support for more families, more often.

Fundraising has been more varied and has involved more organisations and individuals than ever before. For example, our lottery and events programme continue to grow and we have introduced our free will-writing service in partnership with Octopus legacy.

Family Fund is registered with the Fundraising Regulator and is committed to abiding by our Fundraising Promise as well as the Code of Fundraising Practice.  

Enable our team to work at their best

Our new Inclusion Strategy sets out our commitment to inclusion, both as an employer and as a provider of support.

We’ve also gained external recognition as a Disability Confident Leader for our work to advocate, mentor and champion disability in our local community and supply chain.
