About the role
We are looking to appoint an exceptional individual who will bring passion and commitment, as well as skills and experience to our board. Trustees play an active role in governing the charity and are responsible for setting vision, strategic priorities, and for ensuring that the charity complies with legal, charitable and financial requirements. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop skills and experience, while also giving back to a national charity. Family Fund makes a real difference to families raising a disabled or seriously ill child or young person, every day.
We are seeking to appoint a trustee to the board who is based in Northern Ireland. This is to make sure that the needs and context of families living in Northern Ireland are considered in our discussions and decision making.
About you
We welcome candidates of any background who have the required skills and experience to be a trustee. We would like to particularly encourage those with disabilities or long-term conditions or who are parents or carers of children and young adults with disabilities or serious illnesses to apply, to bring fresh perspectives through lived experience.
About us
Family Fund is the UK’s largest charity providing grants for families raising disabled or seriously ill children and young people. Last year we provided more than 170,000 grants or services to families across the UK. This year we are celebrating our 50th anniversary so it’s an exciting time to join us.
Our support helps break down some of the barriers and ease the additional pressures that many families face when raising a child or young person with a disability or serious illness. Through our grants and services, we work hard to make life easier for families. We make a practical difference to a family’s wellbeing, their opportunities, and the lives of their children and young people.
Family Fund is a great place to work for great people. As a values based organisation, we aim to show our values in all that we do. We are committed to inclusion, equality and diversity, and we welcome applications from all parts of the community. We are a Disability Confident Employer and all disabled applicants who meet the requirements for the role will be invited for interview. If you have a disability, and are happy to let us know, please highlight this in your covering letter.
