Our Winter Support Appeal
Today we're launching our Winter Support Appeal, to help more families raising disabled or seriously ill children when they need it the most.
Winter is rapidly approaching, with rising costs for every household. But imagine you can’t give your child a hot meal, cosy bed or warm, clean clothing this winter. Or falling so far behind on bills you can’t heat the house or sleep for worrying about debt. With no way of cutting costs or working to bring in more income.
UK families raising disabled or seriously ill children on a low income are living in fear of costs this winter, unable to cover the basics. Burnt out and exhausted from an unrelenting caring load. And forced to make impossible choices, including between heating the house and eating.
Today we launch our Winter Support Appeal. And we’ve been selected for the Big Give Christmas Challenge. This means from 1 to 8 December, every donation is doubled, so your support can go even further. We’ll be sharing more about our Winter Support Appeal over the next few weeks.
Here’s how you can help
Any donation you can make helps reduce strain and pressure on families by providing essential grants:
- Give a disabled or seriously ill child a warm and comfy bed, or clothing, through cold months.
- Help a family replace a broken cooker, washing machine or other household appliance to reduce stress and labour.
- Give the gift of play equipment or technology so a child can thrive instead of missing out on learning, development and friendships.
