Helping your child stay safe online

The online world is changing fast, and keeping up with the latest online risks can feel overwhelming. This practical and supportive workshop aims to help you as parents and carers to understand the digital spaces disabled children and young people use every day, exploring both the benefits technology can bring for them, and the challenges it can create.

We’ll cover current online safety issues, how to encourage age and ability appropriate conversations about online safety, setting healthy boundaries around technology use, and how to respond if something goes wrong.

Whether you’re looking to build your confidence, stay informed about the latest risks, or learn about the support and resources available for you and your child, this workshop will provide practical advice, useful tools, and a chance to ask questions in a safe, accessible and welcoming environment.

This will take place on Thursday 8 October from 10:30am to 11:30am :

We’re holding this workshop online via Zoom. An experienced trainer and a member of staff from the Family Fund team will be there to support.
