What is Talk Money Week?

Talk Money Week is an annual campaign encouraging people to talk more openly about their finances. The theme for 2025 is ‘Start the conversation’. It aims to help people to feel more confident talking money – which is often the first step to a better financial future.

Why Talk Money?

With the current cost-of-living pressures, getting support for money worries is more important than ever. Research shows that people who talk about money make less risky financial decisions, have stronger personal relationships, help their children form good lifetime money habits and feel less stressed or anxious and more in control.

How do I Talk Money?

It can be difficult to start the conversation about money. That’s why Talk Money Week is a great opportunity to kickstart a conversation with friends, family or colleagues. Building money conversations into our everyday lives can help us build the financial confidence and resilience needed to face whatever the future has in store for us.

Free online workshops

There are two NEW free online workshops available to families this week:

• Complete an online grant search – Family Fund will support attendees with the knowledge and tools to do a grant search (using the Turn2Us grant search tool), to understand the results, and get tips on applying.
• Switch and Save online – Family Fund aim to equip attendees with the knowledge and tools to make informed decisions when switching providers across various services. Including skills to navigate price comparison platforms and gain confidence in applying switching strategies.

Free interactive guides

Family Fund have 11 different online interactive learning guides to help you and your family with different elements of finance.

No sign up is required, load up the guides in your own time and go through at your own pace.

Get debt advice

Finding yourself in debt can feel overwhelming but there are organisations that can help you when you need them. Check out a 60-second debt test and let us show you where you can get further help.

Being a parent or carer of a disabled child is hard work, but you are not alone. Family Fund want to bring together like minded families share experiences and advice with each other around finance but also life with a disabled or seriously ill child.

Talking to those that are not living with real life experiences isn’t the same as being able to talk to others that may understand what you are going through. Join our community Facebook group and meet other like minded families.
