Northern Ireland politicians discover true cost of caring

It was standing room only at a special event at Stormont on 15 September 25 to discuss the findings of Family Fund’s latest research into the financial challenges faced by families raising disabled children.

The Cost of Caring 2025

Our new research shows that UK families raising disabled or seriously ill children and young people are being driven further into debt and unable to meet vital extra caring costs including specialist equipment, utilities, medical appointment travel, food and increased wear and tear on the home.
