Fun Friday – World Book Day costume giveaway

About the giveaway

We’re very excited to announce our latest Fun Friday treat – and it’s a special one!

World Book Day is on Thursday 5 March this year. We know many children like to dress up on this special day, so we’ve teamed up with our amazing friends at Smiffys to bring you a Fun Friday costume giveaway.

Smiffys is a family business that has been bringing joy to families for more than 130 years through their fancy dress costumes. They design all their costumes in-house and they believe in delivering serious fun to the world – so a perfect Fun Friday sponsor!

Costumes are in a range of different styles, in sizes from age 1 year old to age 12. The exact costume you get will be a surprise, but we do want your child to love their gift, so when you enter you’ll be asked to give your child’s age and choose one of the following costume groups to help to us allocate the prize:

Costume group 1

• Sparkly witch kit
• Queen of hearts (ages 7-9 and 10-12)
• Mermaid costume (ages 7-9 and 10-12)
• Where’s Wally? Wenda costume (ages 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12)

Costume group 2

• Hulk (ages 5-6 and 7-8)
• Darth Vader (ages 3-4, 5-6 and 7-8)
• Iron Man (ages 3-4)
• Stormtrooper (ages 3-4, 5-6 and 7-8)
• Captain America (age 7-8)
• Where’s Wally? (ages 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12)

Costume group 3

• Pterodactyl dinosaur (ages 4-6, 7-9, and 10-12)
• Zebra (ages 4-6, 7-9, and 10-12)
• Alien (ages 1-2 and 2-3)
• Jolly Pirate (ages 1-2 and 2-3)

Adaptive costumes (no fabric around seated area, accessibility flap)

• Mandalorian (ages 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12)
• Batman (age 3-5)
• Captain America (ages 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12)
• Spider Man (ages 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12)

Fun Fridays are possible thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, who give us toys and gifts for children, free of charge. If you are selected as a winner, both Family Fund and Smiffys would love to see your child striking a pose in their new costume on World Book Day.

Terms and conditions

This free prize draw is being offered by Family Fund, 3 Alpha Court, Monks Cross Drive, York, YO32 9WN. 

The draw is open to parents/carers of a disabled child aged between 1 and 12 years old, who are resident in the UK.  Employees of Family Fund, Family Fund Business Services, their families, or anyone professionally connected with this promotion, are excluded from taking part. 

Entries are accepted online only via the prize draw form.  The link to the form is on this page. 

Entry limit is one entry per family.  Entries made by third parties or automated systems are invalid. 

All entries must be received by 23:59 on 22/2/2026. 

There are 125 prizes of costumes. Prizes are non-transferable and no cash alternative will be offered. 

Entries will be grouped according to the age of the child and the costume group they have selected. The winners for each age range/costumer group will then be selected at random within 10 days of the closing date.  We will confirm that winners have been selected via this website. 

Personal data will be used for administering this prize draw, in accordance with GDPR and Family Fund’s general privacy notice. 

By entering, participants agree to be bound by these terms.  Family Fund reserves the right to cancel or amend the draw due to circumstances outside its control.
