For four-year-old Finn and his mum Danielle, life is full of creativity, laughter and discovery – but also moments that can feel overwhelming. Finn is autistic and lives with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, which affects his mobility and coordination. He’s bright, curious and full of ideas, but winding down can be difficult.
This winter, your gift could make One Good Day a reality for a child like Finn – bringing comfort, calm and rest to families who need it most.
Any donation, big or small, can help a child feel safe and settled this winter.
Donate nowOne good day starts with a good night
“Some nights, it would take hours,” Danielle recalls. “He couldn’t switch off. I’d push him in the buggy, rocking back and forth, until he finally fell asleep. I was exhausted.” Caring for Finn takes patience and creativity. Changes in sound, light or routine can feel intense for him, so Danielle builds her days around helping him feel safe and understood.

A small change that made a big difference
Everything changed when Danielle applied for a Family Fund grant. She used it to buy a Toniebox – a small storytelling speaker that’s simple enough for Finn to use by himself. “Now he asks for his Toniebox on, his projector on, and he takes himself upstairs,” says Danielle. “He soothes himself to sleep. It’s massive for us.”
It’s more than a bedtime routine – it’s Finn’s way of creating calm for himself. And for Danielle, it’s a moment to breathe and reset after long days of caring.

The power of one good day
A moment of calm can ripple through a whole household. For Danielle, it means rest and reassurance. For Finn, it’s confidence and comfort. For their family, it’s one good day that makes the next one feel possible.
