With reduced incomes, due to round-the-clock caring responsibilities, and additional costs to look after a disabled child, many families now face critical financial hardship. The grants and services we provide have never been in more demand.

Your generosity means we can provide wide-ranging sources of support for families, to improve, and enhance lives.

Over 200,000 grants and services for UK families

From replacement cookers and washing machines, to new beds and bedding, clothing or play and sensory equipment tailored to children’s individual conditions, you help us to be there for even more families in need.

Support for young disabled adults – to realise life ambitions

Disabled and seriously ill young people face a significant drop in support when they turn 18 and transition from child to adult services. Your support means our ‘Your Opportunity’ scheme can step in to bridge that gap – giving disabled and seriously ill young people living in the family home the help they need to follow interests and pursue ambitions. From day trips and driving lessons, to sports kit and musical instruments – every donation makes a big difference to a young adult.

Digital skills development for families

We don’t just supply tablets and iPads. Thanks to your generous donations, we can also show families how to get the most out of them, make them accessible, safe and fun for their kids.

Our online and in-person digital skills workshops help families with:

• using device accessibility options, so families can support the vision, hearing, motor and learning needs of their child
• finding out about online safety, so parents know their children are secure when they use their device
• using free apps to help children have fun being creative, through music, art and movie-making.

Our fundraising promise

Like all charities, it’s important our income comes from a diverse range of sources so that we can continue to deliver wide-ranging grants and services. Organisations and individuals supporting us with donations and sponsorship means we can be here for families day in, day out.

How we use income from fundraising

Your donation helps families raising a disabled or seriously ill child get the support they need today, while helping us develop new ways to support families in the future.

Our fundraising marketing and communications

• We will provide information, through our website, annual highlights and financial statements about our work and our finances, so you can see how your money is being spent and the difference you’re making to families raising a disabled, or seriously, ill child.
• We will communicate with you in a way that suits you. If you tell us you’d prefer less contact, or don’t want us to hear from us at all, we’ll respect your wishes.
• We will ask, at the beginning of every conversation, on the phone or in-person, whether you’re happy to speak to us.
• We will never sell your data to any third party. We will not share your details with other charities.
• Family Fund is voluntarily registered with the fundraising regulator, as part of our commitment to the highest standards in fundraising. We follow the fundraising regulator’s Fundraising Promise as well as their code of fundraising practice.
• Family Fund will not endorse, or approve, products or services of any company, in exchange for fundraising donations.
• Only Family Fund will have direct access to our database and our beneficiaries.

We will acknowledge receipt of a complaint within two working days. We will fully investigate any complaint and advise the complainant of the outcome of the investigation, within 28 days, of our acknowledging receipt of the complaint. Should a complainant be dissatisfied with the outcome of our investigation, they will be able to refer their complaint to the fundraising regulator. This must be done within two months of Family Fund’s response.
