What is the South Staffordshire Water Social Tariff?
South Staffordshire Water’s Social Tariffs are called the Assure Tariff and WaterSure, both are affordability schemes intended to support households struggling with water and wastewater charges.
Who could the South Staffordshire Water Social Tariff help?
South Staffordshire Water customers in West Midlands, South Staffordshire, South Derbyshire, North Warwickshire and the north and west areas above Birmingham, may be able to apply for support from the Assure Tariff if :
- Your household income is less than £23,492
- If you are in receipt of Pension Credit (guarantee element)
- If you are on Universal Credit and temporarily receiving no income
Customers may be able to apply for support from WaterSure if they:
- Have a water meter
And receive at least one of the following:
- Universal credit
- Housing benefit
- Income support
- Pension credit
- Income-based job seeker’s allowance
- Working tax credit
- Child tax credit (you must be receiving more than just the family element)
- Income-related employment and support allowance
And have either:
- Three or more children under the age of 19 living in the household for whom the person receiving benefit also claims child benefit for.
- Someone living in the household, who has a medical condition which means they use a lot of extra water.
