All of the information about the Music units as part of the Discover Digital Inclusion - Your Opportunity programme will be listed here.

What software is needed?

Ahead of any of the music sessions, you will not need to download anything to your device. The music sessions will all take place using a free online website called BandLab.

You will need to sign up to use BandLab. If you can create a free account before watching the workshops, you will be able to follow along on your own device.

How to access the workshops

The design pathway will consist of 3 different workshops. You do not need to complete all three if you do not want to.

The workshops will be available live on the following dates:

Unit 1: Making Music Level 1 – Saturday 7 February at 1:30pm

Unit 2: Making Music Level 2 – Saturday 21 February at 1:30pm

Unit 3: Music Technology: Computer sequencing and composition – Saturday 7 March at 1:30pm

Units

You can access the workshops below to view an ‘on-demand’ version. This will allow you to watch in your own time and at your own pace, and be able to rewind parts where needed.

Unit 1: Making Music Level 1

Unit 1 of the music pathway will cover the basics of making music using BandLab.

Unit 2: Making Music Level 2

Unit 2 of the music pathway builds on using BandLab and the Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) with virtual instruments.

Unit 3: Music Technology: Computer sequencing and composition

Unit 3 of the music pathway will cover using BandLab and exploring sequencing along with music composition.
