Unit 2: Adding sounds and visual effects in Scratch

When is the live workshop?

The live workshop for this unit will take place on Saturday 14 February at 10:30am.

What will I learn in this unit?

This unit will cover using Scratch as a beginner. Scratch is a block based programming language from MIT. You will learn:

• How to add sounds and visual effects into your Scratch game
• How to use audio and visual elements to improve the gameplay experience
• How to refine sounds and visual effects in your game

How do I pass this unit?

To claim the AQA awarded certificate, you must complete a learner assessment.

This should be very simple to do, once you have watched the workshop and created your own mini project in Scratch.

This assessment is available in Showbie – the learning system that Family Fund are using.

Where is the recorded workshop?

The recorded version of the workshop will be added here on Friday 13 February 2026.
