Securing your device for online safety

Learn how to keep your devices updated and safe for your child to use, so they can learn and play safely. We’ll explore parental controls, screen time tools, content restrictions and privacy settings on Apple and Android devices, along with popular apps and games.

What you’ll need

Have your iPad or Android tablet handy so you can follow along and the settings and controls on your own device

Join an online workshop

Family Fund also hold a series of online workshops, where an experienced trainer will talk you through the parental controls and restrictions on your device.

These are very friendly and informal, designed for parents and carers of disabled children. You’ll need a device to access the internet to take part in workshop activities, and to get the most out of this session, joining the call on a second device such as a smart phone, tablet or computer would really help.

Are you a professional rather than parent or carer?

Whilst our resources have been created with parents and carers in mind, we welcome everyone to use these videos if they can help you in the workplace.

If you’d like to discuss further any way that Family Fund could support you in the workplace, get in touch with our friendly team on: [email protected]
