Where your money goes It can cost families on average three times more to raise a disabled child compared to a child without additional needs. Family Fund is committed to removing some of the barriers that these families face, to improve their quality of life and help them feel included. Your fundraising can help make that happen. Every penny you raise will help Family Fund continue to develop and deliver new ways to support families raising disabled or seriously ill children. Here’s how your fundraising could make a difference. £50 helps recognise the challenges faced by the brothers and sisters of disabled or seriously ill children with a small grant towards a gift or activity providing respite. £140 could go towards the cost of one parent or carer of a disabled child attending a free digital skills workshop. The training includes how to customise devices to support their child’s vision, hearing, motor or learning needs, activate parental controls and guided access, and find further support and local resources. £500 could go towards funding a grant for a disabled or seriously ill child’s basic needs through our targeted Wales funding scheme for essential items.
