To become a volunteer, all you need is enthusiasm and a passion to help! However you choose to volunteer, you’ll be part of a supportive community working together to transform the lives of families raising a disabled or seriously ill child.

Due to the Government’s recommended actions regarding Coronavirus we have had to temporarily pause some of our volunteering activity that takes place. However, you can still get involved by volunteering online! This includes blogging opportunities, sharing information about Family Fund with parent/carer support groups and networks, as well as the chance to fundraise for us. Please complete an application form and we will be in touch.

What does a Family Fund volunteer do?

Working within your local community you will raise awareness of the support and help Family Fund can give to families.

There are a number of ways in which you can help

  • Online Supporter- You will support Family Fund to increase our online presence and give a voice to our families by telling others about your everyday experiences and the challenges of living with a disability
  • Fundraiser- You will support our work through collections and events, by encouraging others to fundraise and through raising awareness in your local community
  • Parent Ambassador- Speaking from experience you can support our work by raising awareness of the help and support Family Fund can provide in your local area.

How to get involved

If you are interested in applying for one of our volunteering roles you can complete an application form.

Once we have received your application form we will contact you to discuss the opportunity further and to let you know what will happen next.

'I volunteer to do what I love the most helping people, giving back to communities. If you have a few hours a month or week, and can talk to parents - make them feel at ease, listen and support their struggles, suggest Family Fund or a leaflet drop to facilities around your town.' - Read Caroline's story

Chris - Office volunteer

'Volunteering is a rewarding way of contributing to a good cause, meeting new people and using my skills in a friendly and supportive environment.' - Read Chris' story
