Volunteer Co-Ordinator Salary – £21,976 pro rata Part Time 21 hours per week Permanent Contract Are you a proactive communicator and facilitator, passionate about building volunteer networks to help improve outcomes and achieve change for families raising disabled or seriously ill children? Family Fund is the UK’s largest charity providing grants for families raising disabled or seriously ill children and young people, with over 89,000 grants and services worth over £36 million delivered to families in 2015/16. As Volunteer Co-Ordinator you will contribute to the delivery of strategic and operational objectives through facilitating volunteer recruitment, placement and retention, and managing volunteers and their relationships with those they come into contact with, including Family Fund employees and the families of disabled children and young people who we support. Reporting to the Public Affairs Manager, you will be responsible for generating appropriate volunteering opportunities and role descriptions based on the needs of the organisation, with initial focus being on establishing a pilot volunteer programme in Yorkshire. You will raise internal staff awareness of the role and the function of volunteers, as well as liaising with relevant teams across Family Fund to understand how they work and assess their volunteering needs. The successful candidate will be motivated and driven in order to identify and engage volunteers, develop and promote volunteering opportunities, and engage with those who wish to support our work. You will have experience of recruiting and managing volunteers and supporters, as well as developing policies and support arrangements. You will be a resourceful self-starter with excellent communication, organisation and people skills.
