Family Fund is the UK’s largest charity providing grants for families raising disabled or seriously ill children and young people – providing over 88,000 grants and services worth over £33 million in 2016/17. As Trust Fundraiser, reporting into the Head of Fundraising, your key responsibility will be to prepare and submit high quality applications to trusts, foundations and other grant-making bodies enabling Family Fund to secure funds to retain and grow our grants and services for families. As part of a dynamic team you will develop and maintain excellent knowledge of Family Fund services and build strong internal relationships with grant and service managers in order to research, design and write detailed applications to grant-making bodies. In addition to writing proposals of a high standard, tailored to individual funders and meeting all necessary requirements, your other key responsibilities include: Build long term relationships with existing and new donors. Remain abreast of new funding sources and emerging trends for trust fundraising. Monitor and record funding opportunities in the database, ensuring sufficient prospects are identified to meet agreed income targets. Prepare reports and present to the organisation’s Fundraising Committee. Educated to degree level or with equivalent experience in trust fundraising, you will have excellent research, writing and checking skills, and close attention to detail. Your influential writing and exceptional document presentation skills complement your proven ability to research and secure new funding opportunities. With an open and participative working style, you’re a great team player and able to engage with a wide range of stakeholders. This post is based in York with occasional travel throughout the UK.
