Staying safe online

Learn how to keep your devices updated and safe for your child to use, so they can learn and play safely. We’ll look at parental controls and restrictions on both iPads and Android tablets, monitoring Google activity, and YouTube supervised accounts for families.

What you’ll need

Have your iPad or Android tablet handy so you can follow along and the settings and controls on your own device

Join an online workshop

Family Fund also hold a series of online workshops, where an experienced trainer will talk you through the parental controls and restrictions on your device.

These are very friendly and informal, designed for parents and carers of disabled children. You’ll need a device to access the internet to take part in workshop activities, and to get the most out of this session, joining the call on a second device such as a smart phone, tablet or computer would really help.
