The role

We are looking for a Safeguarding and Policy Team Leader to join the team on a temporary basis to cover maternity leave.  In this role you will be responsible for leading excellence in Safeguarding activities through effective team leadership and acting as Family Fund’s Deputy Safeguarding Lead. You will deliver Family Fund’s operational Safeguarding activities adhering to our safeguarding commitment. You and your team will work to embed our safeguarding ethos across the Family Fund Group, connecting with all other teams and supporting them to effectively utilise Family Fund Safeguarding Policy. You will maximise performance against defined key performance indicators through effective team leadership, scheme co-ordination and ensuring excellent customer service.

Duties include:

  • Acting as Deputy Safeguarding Lead for the Family Fund Group, supporting the Designated Safeguarding Lead to ensure we fully comply with our responsibilities to safeguard children and vulnerable adults.
  • Acting as point of escalation for safeguarding activities ensuring appropriate decision making and activity across the Group.
  • Coordinate delivery of safeguarding processes and activities, delivering appropriate responses within agreed timescales.
  • Deliver operational safeguarding activities and support processes to ensure the Group delivers our safeguarding responsibilities. 

About you

To be considered for this role you must have excellent knowledge of safeguarding regulations and policy and the key concepts and principles of Safeguarding children and adults at risk.  You must have had safeguarding training or an associated qualification or equivalent experience. A proven track record in effective team supervision and leadership is also essential.  You must be proficient in all Microsoft applications, have excellent written and oral communication skills and great organisation skills.
