1-2 hours per week during office hours

This is a continuously open post, but ideally, we would be looking for our first volunteer to start by the end of July.

Role summary

Based at the Family Fund office you will support the fundraising team to raise the profile of Family Fund in local communities, supporting our Fundraising Assistant with general office tasks.

You will also support other teams in the office with admin tasks which will allow more grants to be processed and more information to be sent to families, extending the reach of Family Fund’s support.

If you are interested in finding out more about working for a charity or a career in Fundraising there may also be the opportunity to become involved in research, project and event work.

By joining our volunteering team, you are supporting families raising disabled and seriously ill children and young people to have the same opportunities as others.

Main tasks

Being an Office volunteer may involve:

  • Assisting the fundraising team with general office admin tasks e.g. filing, printing and mailing
  • Creating fundraising packs to send to supporters
  • Printing and collating thank you letters and certificates
  • Addressing and posting community application letters
  • Managing larger print runs and jobs (e.g. trust fund app packs, large batches of grant award letters)
  • Other ad hoc admin tasks as they arise for other teams within Family Fund

Optional tasks

If you are interested in learning more about fundraising you may also:

  • Undertake fundraising related research tasks
  • Source print and materials quotes
  • Research and identify funding opportunities
  • Assist with events preparation
  • Project work as directed by the team

These optional tasks would be discussed and agreed with the volunteer in advanced to reflect their interests.

  • Detailed induction and training, providing all the information and skills needed to fulfil the role
  • A dedicated member of staff to provide ongoing support and supervision
  • Payment of out of pocket expenses in line with Family Fund’s Volunteer Expenses Policy.
