There have been reports in the media of Whirlpool repairing a selected line of Hotpoint/Indesit tumble dryers. If your family have been affected please read the following information:

Whirlpool has said “The safety of our consumers is our number one priority. Our communications campaign for the repair programme continues and we have now sent over 3.4 million individual letters directly to consumer’s homes. Visit our online model checkers either at or and follow the steps indicated. Alternatively call our dedicated helpline on 0800 151 0905.”

If your machine is still under the manufacturer’s warranty you can wait for a repair or have an exchange for free.

If your machine is out of its manufacturer’s warranty then you can have a repair for free or pay a charge for an exchange; Whirlpool have given affected consumers the option of purchasing a replacement machine for either £59 or £99 instead of waiting for the repair programme.

All families who have bought a machine through Family Fund and Euronics will have an additional Family fund warranty, which means that should you decide to get a replacement machine, the balance of your warranty can be applied to your new appliance; If you take this course of action please notify Euronics on 01264 620504 so that they can update your warranty details.

Given the large number of dryers affected, Whirlpool have experienced some delays in replying and they have apologised for this inconvenience. They are currently working to address the situation and improve response times.
