We’re thrilled to announce the launch of two new TV ads featuring UK families as part of our ‘Little Moments’ nationwide campaign with McCain.

This is another important milestone in helping us raise better awareness of the grants and services Family Fund provides to eligible families raising disabled or seriously ill children and young people, across the UK.

Two new 20 second adverts, starring Kaj and Max and their families will be shown during primetime across UK national channels.

The adverts provide a vital platform for the voices of disabled children, young people and their families. They feature Kaj, Max and their families as they prepare dinner and enjoy family time together.

As shown in our research Mealtimes for all, these quality times can be particularly hard to find for families raising a disabled or seriously ill child.

The ongoing partnership between Family Fund and McCain aims to offer support and take meaningful action so families can enjoy the little moments that matter.

Kaj said: "Dinner times make me happy because we're all together as a family and we all eat together on a plate, and sometimes we say 'Bon Appetit!".

Kaj received a grant for an iPad. His grant helps him stay calm at the dinner table and enjoy a meal alongside his family:

“As much as I would love to have no screens, it really helps Kaj’s sensory seeking behaviour. It stops him from being up and down at the table and moving about constantly when we are eating. It also gives me time, when they are comfortable on their devices, to do some washing or even sit down and have a cup of coffee for myself.

Family Fund has made an incredibly positive difference. For family like ours, this is a very beneficial and gave us the opportunity to improve our lives. said Dorota, Kaj’s mum.

These new ads are the second set of primetime TV adverts released nationwide by McCain and Family Fund. They also follow the success of the recent Table Talk with Paddy and Christine podcast series, where Paddy and Christine McGuiness met with six families raising disabled children across the UK and got to learn about the realities of family life, the worries and wonders they face, how they spend time together and the support they have had from Family Fund. McCain is donating £1 million to help Family Fund achieve our goal to provide 150,000 grants and services to families with disabled or seriously ill children. The partnership has already provided over 1000 grants to families needing essential items, from kitchen appliances such as fridges and ovens, to technology such as tablets and computers. These items allow the families to spend more time together, such as during mealtimes, enabling them to take time for the little moments.

Cheryl Ward, Group Chief Executive at Family Fund, said: “As our own Research shows, three quarters of parents with disabled children want to see more families like theirs shown in mainstream culture. We are delighted that this new TV ad will bring to the screen a snapshot into the lives of these families. This partnership with McCain provides an unprecedented opportunity for us to create and celebrate family moments and, importantly provides a platform for the voices of disabled children, young people and their families to be heard - raising awareness, and ultimately helping Family Fund to improve family life for many more families.”
