We are very pleased to confirm that we are able to provide grants in Wales again following the confirmation of new funding from Welsh Government. If you live in Wales, and are raising a disabled or seriously ill child, you may be eligible for support. Click here to find out how to apply for a grant.

Under the terms of our funding, we must focus on providing grant items that support giving families a break. With the current restrictions on movement, we know it is not possible to take a family break or day trip, so we are keen to provide ways that support families having a ‘break’ at home. This means you can also apply for items such as outdoor play equipment, games books and music, computers and tablets, and sensory toys and equipment.

Families can still request a ‘traditional’ break, and redeem this at a later date when restrictions on travel are eased. A full list of grant items is available here: https://www.familyfund.org.uk/FAQs/wales-what-can-we-apply-for

Please note, we have to prioritise helping families who have not recently received support from Family Fund, so if you have received a grant for any of the following items since April 2019, you will not be able to apply for any of these items:

  • Family breaks
  • Day trips
  • Subscriptions for classes
  • Costs of outings, activity clubs, hobby/sports equipment
  • Supporting the cost of an additional carer when on a break or outing

If you would like to apply for another item, but are unsure whether we could provide it, please get in touch before applying.
