Joining the team at this time, you will play a vital role in providing invaluable support to the Communications team within the organisation. As Marketing and Communications Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the team in promoting our grants and services to families through a variety of online and offline methods. You will play a crucial role in helping raise the profile of Family Fund through events, content creation, campaigns and family engagement and support the collection and creation of family stories across different media. Main duties include: Identifying, collecting and writing up family stories to demonstrate Family Fund’s impact and outcomes (including conducting interviews and supporting with the collection of family-written blogs). Maintaining a database of family stories that allows for easy identification of stories to meet various organisational objectives, and recommend particular family stories to incorporate into external communications. Identifying and developing opportunities for sharing families’ voices through our communication channels, measuring against other charities and organisations to identify new ideas and best practice.. Working with Senior Content and Story Officer on the co-ordination of photography and video shoots, including preparing families for interviews. Supporting the Media Relations Manager with media work including press features and queries and monitoring and evaluation. Working alongside the Events and Outreach Co-ordinator to assist in the development, promotion and implementation of the promotional events programme. To be considered for this role you should come to us with experience dealing with a range of external and internal stakeholders and of writing for public audiences. You should be a confident user of social media, email, and digital communication tools and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. The role will require you to handle confidential information and deal with individuals in sensitive situations so you should be a clear and open communicator able to demonstrate empathy and listen to others. Organised, hard-working and courteous you should be a pro-active self-starter that is both adaptable and resilient to work demands and committed to achieving the objectives of our fantastic organisation. This role would ordinarily be based at our offices in Monk’s Cross (York) however, as a result of Coronavirus, we have transitioned this team to enable them to work effectively from home.
