Fundraising Prospect Volunteer
Would you like to play a crucial part in supporting our fundraising team? You’ll gain valuable experience in not-for-profit fundraising, while developing your research and analytical skills.
You’ll identify, research and engage potential new funding opportunities that will contribute to Family Fund’s work supporting UK families on a low income raising disabled and seriously ill children and young people.
You’ll help families by:
- Conducting regular prospect research. This will be desk-based research, using funding databases.
- Connecting and developing partnerships with new trusts.
- Producing letter applications to small trusts to support our wider fundraising.
- Refreshing existing prospect research on a regular basis.
- Researching and engaging with green token schemes, Co-Op card schemes, et cetera.
- Searching the Charity Commission website for funding opportunities.
This role will suit if you:
- Can handle confidential information discreetly.
- Are able to work independently – and as part of a team.
- Have good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Have a passion for the not-for-profit sector and Family Fund’s mission and vision.
- Have a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Can use the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Are able to use online research tools and databases.
- Are reliable and punctual.
- Have strong research, analytical and organisational skills.

Location
This flexible role can be done at a time to suit you, any day of the week. If you live close by, you’re welcome to pop into our York headquarters, or you can work from home.
Requirements
Volunteers must be over 18, reliable, and comfortable working independently. Basic computer skills, accuracy, and a sense of responsibility are essential.
