Give up, give back

Could you kick off the New Year with a resolution that makes a difference? By giving up a small habit you could give vital support to families on a low income raising a disabled or seriously ill child, in one of the toughest months of the year.

Every single day families we help are having to give up essentials we take for granted, including heating and food, to cover steep wider caring costs. This month, you could help – by giving up a small treat and donating what you would have spent. So we can provide families struggling with winter pressures with the essential items they need but can’t afford-from replacement washing machines or beds to warm clothing or soothing sensory toys.

How to get involved

Remember that no amount is too small. Whether you choose to skip a sweet treat or your favourite takeaway, every penny will go towards getting essential grants and services to families who need them most.

What could you give up this January?

• Swap a meal deal for a packed lunch
• Pass on a gym class and do a home workout
• Read a book and lose the streaming service for a month
• Cancel a subscription that you barely use
• Switch your takeaway coffee for one brewed at home
