The Great North Run is the largest half marathon in the world, taking place annually in North East England each September. Participants run between Newcastle upon Tyne and South Shields.
The magic of the Great North Run can be hard to understand until you’ve experienced it for yourself, on the Newcastle to South Shields route. The AJ Bell Great North Run is famous for its inclusive atmosphere, unbeatable en-route entertainment and warm Geordie welcome. Not to mention the millions raised each year for worthy causes.

“I’d always wanted to run the Great North Run so felt it necessary to run for an amazing charity; Family Fund. Having recently becoming a mummy I understood how lucky I was and how others may not be so, including close friends of mine. Running for such an great local cause was the biggest reward, knowing how the sponsorship I’d raised is helping others less fortunate nationwide”
Jessica, who took part in the Great North Run 2022 for Family Fund
