A summer for everyone

For many, summer can mean long holidays, trips away, kids riding bikes and playing in the garden. A time to relax and enjoy the freedom of long days and good weather.  

For families raising disabled or seriously ill children, there is no break when summer comes around. And with rising costs, high levels of debt and an increasing lack of support families tell us they’re at breaking point. 

For 74% of parents/carers, family breaks are unaffordable, and 41% can’t access the formal childcare they need. Even something as simple as an hour’s respite or playtime outside is out of reach.  

You can give families a break this summer 

Every donation makes a huge difference to a family:

• £10 could go towards a garden swing, giving a seriously ill child the freedom to play outside.
• £20 could support our ‘Discover Digital’ summer festival, giving a child with additional needs an exciting accessible creative workshop whilst giving parents a much-needed break.
• £30 could go towards a day out – giving a family the chance to spend quality time together and create lifelong memories.
