Job Title: Finance Assistant

Salary: £19,235 pro rata per annum

Contract: fixed term until 30 September 2022

Hours: 28 per week

The role

We are looking for a Finance Assistant to join the Finance & Contracts Team on a temporary basis until 30 September 2022 to assist with the increasing volume of work in the department.

In this role you will validate and process various sizes of supplier invoices, reconciling and analysing the large ones on Microsoft Excel, and then entering into the purchase ledger on the accounting system. You will also process payments for cash grants via BACS and enter onto the finance system.  Other duties include:

  • Input daily bank transactions onto cash flow spreadsheets and the finance system
  • Complete bank reconciliations.
  • Analyse Fundraising income from multiple sources.
  • Process Independent Assessor payments and resolve any queries.
  • Pay staff expenses and reconcile the credit card transactions to enter onto the finance system.
  • Maintain Sales Ledger, including raising invoices/credit notes and credit control.
  • Complete monthly reconciliations.

About you

To be successful in this role you must have excellent administration skills. You will have experience of financial and accounting procedures and of inputting records onto a computer system. You should have an understanding of how to record VAT from supplier receipts. A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook and Excel is also required.  You must have great attention to detail and confident to work with large volumes of data. You should be able to work accurately and to deadlines.  You will need to be able to work as part of a team and to performance targets.
