Salary – £21,976

Full time 35 hours per week

Are you a proactive communicator and facilitator, passionate about building networks to help improve outcomes and achieve change for families?

Family Fund is the UK’s largest charity providing grants for families raising disabled or seriously ill children and young people, with over 88,000 grants and services worth over £33 million delivered to families in 2016/17.

The number of families we support increases each year, but there are many more eligible for our help who do not know about our grants and other support. This role builds relationships and runs engagement events and activities with families raising disabled children, along with related groups and professionals, in order to promote our grant-making activities, services and associated projects and campaigns.

Reporting to the Public Affairs Manager, you’ll be responsible for linking Family Fund with families across the UK through online and offline activities, including social media, group meetings, conferences, workshops and other events.

The successful candidate will be motivated and driven in order to identify and engage families raising disabled children in priority locations throughout the UK; working with key organisations and groups at a local level to promote the work of Family Fund.

To be successful in this role you will have experience of networking and developing relationships with individuals and organisations, as well as participation and coproduction with service users. You’ll be a resourceful self-starter with excellent communication, organisation and people skills.

The role is based in York and will require a significant amount of UK travel with occasional overnight stays.
