About the workshop

Want to start your own band? Sign up to our Live band workshoppart of this year’s Sumer School programme.

In this workshop we will have access to some amazing instruments using Garageband (free to download from the app store). We will explore how to play them and get the most from them. You could even meet your friends afterwards to create your own live iPad Band.

In the workshop, we can cover:

  • Creating a new blank song project
  • Working with live loops to create a piece of music
  • Auditioning and selecting Apple Loops
  • Arranging Apple loops on the grid
  • Performing the composition by triggering loops
  • Adding audio from the microphone
  • Exploring effects and mixing
  • Sharing the finished song

This workshop is supported by RNIB to provide assistance for anyone with a visual impairment (VI).
