Alan's Volunteering Story Alan is a volunteer fundraiser for Family Fund. He gets involved with events like the Great North Run to help raise money for the charity. Alan’s Volunteer Story Hi everyone, my name is Alan Ball and I am a serious injury solicitor at Irwin Mitchell in Leeds representing both adults and children in brain and spinal cord injury claims. Why do you volunteer for Family Fund? It’s part of my day job that I’ve gotten to know Family Fund over the last four years, and got to know about all of the amazing work they do helping families up and down the country every single year. I’m really proud to be running the Great North Run for them in September, and despite the blisters that I’ve currently got from training, it’s totally worth it because they really are a brilliant organisation that helps so many people each year. What would you say to someone who was interested in volunteering? Do it! They really are a fantastic organisation, and they really do make a difference to people’s lives. So please join me in supporting Family Fund and get volunteering!
