Families looking for inclusive swimming lessons for their disabled or seriously ill child may be interested in Swimtime.

Swimtime is the UK’s largest independent provider of swimming lessons, delivering a programme to individuals and groups of all ages and abilities. This includes providing inclusive sessions in the water for children with a range of physical or learning disabilities. Children who may need a bit more support can also have a parent or carer in the water with them.

All of the teachers working with Swimtime hold teaching qualifications, are lifesavers, have insurance, and have current Enhanced DBS Certificates or equivalent.

Linda Price, founder of Swimtime, says “Our extensive experience shows that so many children, whose disabilities can restrict them in other parts of their day to day lives, benefit from participating in inclusive group lessons. Water is therapeutic on many levels and it’s so rewarding to see the parent’s faces as they watch their children excited, having fun and moving freely in the water.”

To find out more about what is available in your area, you can email enq@swimtime.org or visit the Swimtime website. All enquiries will then be forwarded to regional Swimtime offices where specific help & advice will be given along with details of lesson availability.
