We are pleased to announce that Neil Scott, an existing trustee for the last three years, has been appointed as our new Chair of Trustees.

Neil, who is Chief Financial Officer at Aston University, succeeds Ian Black, who led the board as Chair for two consecutive terms of three years, after joining the charity as a Trustee in 2012.

Neil has previously held senior positions at the University of Hull, Wyevale Garden Centres, Marston, Thompson & Evershed, and the Ford Motor Company. He is also a non-executive director at Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Trust.

Neil said: “I am delighted to take up this role for a charity I so passionately believe in.

“I look forward to continuing to work with the Trustees and Executive team in supporting and shaping Family Fund’s future, to ensure that families continue to receive essential help and that we represent their interests and amplify their voices at every level.”

Ian, a director of companies in the fields of publishing, health, insurance and internet investment, said “As the largest UK charity providing grants to families on low incomes raising disabled children, Family Fund plays a crucial role in the lives of many thousands of people.

“Serving as both a trustee and Chair of Trustees, it has been a privilege to see first-hand the tangible, positive difference that our work makes to families needing a helping hand in caring for often very vulnerable children and young people.”
