Please note: If the family is living in Wales, please visit our Wales application pages to find out more about grants available.

We will look at any grant request that relates to the needs of a disabled or seriously ill child, young person and their family. This might be furniture, clothing, bedding, sensory toys, computers or tablets, a family break, or maybe something to help with college for 16 and 17 year-olds. Read some of our families’ stories to see what sort of things other people have been helped with.

When applying, encourage the family to think about what would make a difference. If the family would like to request more than one item please make sure you add requests with the most important items first. We will consider all grant requests in order of priority. We try to help as many families as possible but we may not always be able to help each time a family applies or with all items requested.

We have contracts with a range of suppliers to provide the majority of our grants. The use of contracts allows the Fund to arrange discounts with different suppliers meaning that our funding goes further. The discounts we receive from our partners make sure thousands of additional families are helped every year and is an important revenue stream for Family Fund.

You can find out more about the main suppliers we work with here.

Due to our limited funding we are unable to help with every request especially items of a very high value. For example, cars or driving lessons. We are also unable to help with requests where a statutory agency (such as local authorities or health services) has a responsibility to provide the item needed.
